July 17th Email:

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

We are in the hot and hazy summer days of July, trying to stay cool.

I would like to share a word about the current spike in cases and deaths with COVID-19 in our greater area of Westmoreland County and beyond.  The governor has mandated that indoor groups be limited to 25 people or less; however, he specifically shared that this is not required of churches that are conducting worship with the necessary safety precautions in place... which is what we are doing.

So after consultation with the leadership of our Church Council, Board of Trustees, Staff/Parish Relations Committee and Finance Committee, as well as District and Conference leadership, we will remain open for onsite worship services on Sunday mornings at 8:30 and 10:45 am, with the LiveStream service still presented at 10:45 am also.  HOWEVER, if anyone feels uncomfortable about coming to public worship in the midst of the pandemic, please feel free to remain home and worship with us online.

We are still requiring everyone to wear a mask/face covering when they enter and are in the sanctuary.  During the services, the Pastor and worship leaders (ie, singers, liturgist, etc.) may remove their masks provided they are more than 6' apart from non-related people.  We know that for many people, having to wear a mask in a warm/hot indoor space is quite uncomfortable; thus we would hope that you also would consider worshiping online from home for your comfort level.

When the lower level restrooms are finished being remodeled, we are considering moving the 10:45 am worship service downstairs to the air-conditioned Fellowship Hall.  That means we would be LiveStreaming the 8:30 am worship service from the Sanctuary, and then rebroadcasting it again at 10:45 am.  More information will be forthcoming regarding this location change should it take place.

I am thrilled to know that even when we cannot be together physically, we are still united as the body of Christ in our sanctuary or in our homes.  As your Pastor, I covet your prayers as we continue to sail through these unchartered waters--yet we know that our anchor is firm and unyielding, for we anchor our faith individually and collectively with Jesus Christ!

See you in worship--in person or online!  And embrace grace!

Pastor Kevin
