Saturday and Sunday Worship Opportunities

1st UMC

We invite you to come a quieter place. Each worship service includes Scripture, the Sacrament of Holy Communion, and one featured musical instrumentalist or ensemble. The Order of Worship is shaped by the message of the Scripture and the possibilities of the featured instrument(s) and may include the following: contemplative preaching, Scriptural meditation, times of quiet stillness, guided silent prayer, candle lighting, and lectio divina (praying the Scriptures).

Following worship, a gathering time is offered with light, healthy food and refreshments. The intent of this fellowship is a continued connection to God through communion with one another.

Childcare is provided during worship and fellowship times.

(Sermons ARE optional...and yes, this service counts.)

SUNDAYS @ 8:30 & 10:45 AM

Celebrate the fall-to-your-knees beauty of our one hundred year old Gothic Sanctuary. We pull out all the stops to honor and glorify God...reverent liturgy, ground-shaking organ accompaniment, uplifting voices of the Chancel Choir, and hands raised to our Savior (with handbells ringing in them). Hear God's Word proclaimed or sung by a servant of God truly led by the Holy Spirit. Where the Spirit leads, Pastor Steve follows. Don't be surprised to find him out of the pulpit, in the aisles, or in the back of the Sanctuary.

A nursery and crib rooms are close by for children ages four and under. Rocking chairs are available for nursing mothers in a quiet and private area. Children in 2nd grade and below may attend Children's Church during Pastor Steve's sermon.

Come early. Gather at Coffee Hour in the Sanctuary Hall and enjoy cookies, juice, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, and of course- fellowship. Take your treats "to go" and attend one of our many Sunday School classes offered for ages 3 to adult.

Coffee hour and Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 AM.
